Council Meetings are the first Saturdays of March, June, September and December.  Agendas or decisions are posted on the News page.
Call tribal offices or email your principal clan mother to have an item considered.  See Contact page.

The meetings are usually held at the Notchietown Office.  Agenda items or a report after will be at the bottom of this page.

The Natchez Tribal Council Meetings are open to all tribal members and the public.  Tribal members may contact their clan mothers or the clan mother representatives (Rvtakikv/Speakers/Emponvyv for the Clan Mothers) to have an item discussed in council.  Council decisions are by consensus only.

Tribal council has contacted our tribal attorney for referral to a specialized attorney toward federal charter.  Tribal council is working toward business ideas and contracts-right now toward Bingo to increase tribal revenue.  Your ideas and input are important. Let us hear from you.

Council has completed and submitted several small grants and will continue to do what we can to increase tribal revenue for projects, including housing.  We have recently written grants to help two (2) ceremonial grounds with camps  We are "testing" economic development ideas and continue to seek funds for land purchase. We may be writing contract agreements which will provide some jobs, but haven't had much success with the contracts as yet.  We are seeking them now on .gov websites as we qualify as a government contractor.

Approval of the federal charter or federal legislation identifying us as recognized should enable the tribe to receive much needed funding in several areas, including the police department and court.  We have contacted the office of the President and the Assistant Secretary for Indian Affairs in that regard.

We are in the beginning stages of filing a lawsuit in federal district court regarding the federal charter.  It takes a long time.

It takes a long time.  Somebody said $350 to file, $300,000 for the lawyer, and about three years.  We're making some telephone calls to clarify with the Assistant Secretary of the Interior to try to avoid us spending money and them being in court.  But, we do have a tribal member who is willing to pay the legal fees.  Will you help too?
