Natchez Nation is a treaty tribe of the federally recognized Muscogee (Creek) Nation with a sovereign traditional government; most likely the oldest continually functioning government on Mother Earth. Natchez Communities and people are found within each of the Five Civilized Tribes now in Oklahoma. There are bands and communities outside of Oklahoma as well, including the Eastern Band Natchez and Edistos Natchez-Kusso; both state recognized in South Carolina.
